What is a Public MEETING?: With certain exceptions, all meetings of a public body must be open to the public. A meeting is generally defined as “a deliberation by a public body with respect to any matter within the body's jurisdiction.” A deliberation is a communication between or among members of a public body.

10. Who can attend a Board of Health meeting?: Anyone. All are welcome.

11. Who can speak at a Board of Health meeting?: Anyone who has been placed on the Meeting Agenda; otherwise, it is the purview of the Chairman to allow comment or not.

13. What is a Public HEARING?: A public hearing is open to the public but is regarding a specific proposal/project. Example: Receive feedback and comments from all interested parties for the consideration of adopting or revising a regulation.
