On March 27, 2018, the Board of Selectmen established an eight (8) member, Shrewsbury Public Lands Committee. The Board is seeking two (2) residents to serve as members on the committee. Interested persons should have a demonstrated commitment to open space, outside recreation, the law or land use and must be a registered voter of the Town.
The scope of the charge is to use the recent site location list used for the Beal School Project as a point of departure to evaluate each parcel for use or disposition limitations imposed be recent Supreme Judicial Court rulings, Town Meeting action, condition of gifting to the town, and conservation or other limitations, with the final product being an inventory of land complete with use limitations.
The committee will receive staff support from the Office of the Town Manager, Engineering/GIS and an intern from an area institution.
