[ARCHIVED] Important Message from the Water & Sewer Division - Sewer System Maintenance Tonight

water and sewer

The Town's consultants, Weston & Sampson, and contractor, National Water Main Cleaning Company, will be conducting sewer system maintenance tonight, November 2, 2023. This work will take place near the intersection of Route 9 and South Street starting at 9:00 PM and will end at 5:00 AM.

During this work, a cured-in-place liner will be installed in the sewer pipe crossing Route 9 at South Street. In order to complete this work correctly, no sewer can flow through the pipe. This will require the sewer pump station located in the vicinity of 85 Cherry Street to be pumped using sewer pump trucks as well as a manhole near the intersection of Route 9 and South Street. The sewer pump trucks are expected to be needed for the duration of the project. There will be no interruption in sewer service while this work is being completed.

We apologize for any inconvenience you may experience during this work and appreciate your continued cooperation while we strive to improve our sanitary sewer system. If you have any questions or experience any inconvenience related to the inspection work described above, please contact the Department of Public Works - Water and Sewer Division at (508) 841-8502 or
