As part of the design process for the Mountain View /Prospect Park cemetery expansion the BSC Group along with the Davey Resource Group are conducting a survey of all trees in the area designated for phase 1 of the cemetery expansion. This area borders Prospect Street, Merriam Ave, and Boylston Street. This work includes number tagging of all trees 8” DBH or larger and trees or shrubs of significance that may be unique, threatened, endangered or invasive. The trees will be located by survey and have a Level 2 Basic Tree Risk Assessment done by Certified Arborists.
The tree survey will help determine overall tree health so the designer can make informed decisions to retain or remove trees as part of the cemetery project. Trees are a great natural resource and the goal of this project is to design a park-like cemetery that keeps as many healthy trees as possible while also considering the health and safety of people using the area. To learn more please view the Concept Plans for Phase 1.
You can view the Tree Inventory of other areas in Town to learn more about the benefit trees have on our environment. The tree inventory from this project will be added here at a later date.
