Public Health Advisory for Dean Park Pond

Previous testing revealed that Cyanobateria has exceeded the recreational threshhold. Due to this being a common occurrence, Dean Park Pond will have a permanent advisory to keep pets out of the water, people to stay out of the water, and discontinue fishing until further notice. If your pet has ingested any of the scums, please consult your Veterinarian. Dean Park Pond will be posted and closed until further notice.

The Public Health Advisory previously issued on 07-14-22 for Dean Park Pond in Shrewsbury remains in effect until further notice due to high bacterial levels caused by a Cyanobacteria Bloom (also known as blue-green algae).

Dean Park Pond in Shrewsbury is under an advisory until further notice due to high bacterial levels caused by a Cyanobacteria Bloom (also known as blue-green algae).
The Worcester Division of Public Health (WDPH) and the Town of Shrewsbury’s Board of Health has ordered an advisory of the pond and it remain in effect until further laboratory tests reveal acceptable and safe water quality limits.
Town officials encourage individuals and their pets to avoid contact at Dean Park Pond, including fishing, until further notice.
Dean Park Pond is located off of Main Street in Shrewsbury.
