SEPTEMBER IS NATIONAL PREPAREDNESS MONTH

National Preparedness Month is an observance each September to raise awareness about the importance of preparing for disasters and emergencies that could happen at any time.

In recognition of National Preparedness Month, the Office of Preparedness and Emergency Management (OPEM) within the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) has continued its Stay Aware, Be Prepared campaign. This campaign focuses on actions individuals and families can take to be ready to stay or leave home in an emergency or disaster.

	STAY AWARE Learn how you can be informed and stay aware of emergencies and events that may impact you and your family.
	PLAN AHEAD Make an emergency preparedness plan that fits your needs.
	BE PREPARED Learn how to create a basic emergency preparedness kit for your home that can be used for any emergency.
