[ARCHIVED] UPDATE: Public Health Advisories have been LIFTED for both Sunset Beach AND Dean Park Pond

PUBLIC HEALTH ADVISORIES - LIFTED as of June 23, 2022

For Both Sunset Beach and Dean Park Pond

Sunset Beach, located on 64 Old Faith Road in Shrewsbury - Advisory has been LIFTED. Weekly water quality testing has indicated normal water quality standards. 

Dean Park Pond, located off of Main Street in Shrewsbury - Advisory has been LIFTED for fishing. Weekly water quality testing has indicated normal water quality standards. As a reminder, no swimming in the pond.

Previously communicated on 06/16/22 by the Worcester Division of Public Health (WDPH) and the Town of Shrewsbury’s Board of Health.
Public Health Advisories for both these bodies of water. 

Sunset Beach, located on 64 Old Faith Road in Shrewsbury is closed to swimming until further notice. Recent water quality testing has indicated elevated E.Coli bacterial levels that exceed normal water quality standards. 

Dean Park Pond, located off of Main Street in Shrewsbury is also showing elevated bacterial levels that exceed normal water quality standards. Town officials encourage individuals and their pets to avoid contact with the pond, including fishing, until further notice. As always, no swimming in the pond. 

The Worcester Division of Public Health (WDPH) and the Town of Shrewsbury’s Board of Health has issued Public Health Advisories for both these bodies of water. 

Testing will continue until laboratory tests reveal acceptable and safe water quality limits. Information will be updated by the Town when it becomes available.
