This is an important message from the Department of Public Works regarding leaf/yard waste collections. Continued driver shortages will delay leaf/yard waste collections for one week. There will be no collection of leaf/yard waste during the week of May 2 - May 6, 2022. Curbside leaf/yard waste collections will continue on Monday, May 9, 2022, and will run for two weeks to Friday, May 20, 2022. Please note, that there is no impact or change to the Solid Waste & Recycling collections for the week of May 2- May 6, 2022.
The Town recognizes the inconvenience of this change and has arranged to have two (2) containers for leaf/yard waste drop-off from Wednesday, May 4, 2022, to Monday, May 16, 2022. The containers will be located at the Highway Garage, 211 South Street, Shrewsbury MA. Leaf/yard-waste drop-off is permitted during operating hours only 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM Monday - Friday.
- Yard waste must be in the 30-gallon paper lawn & leaf bags and lined up at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on the scheduled collection day. NO PLASTIC BAGS
- Branches will also be collected if:
- They are no larger than 3" in diameter
- Cut into 4-foot lengths
- Securely tied into bundles
- Drop-off of leaf/yard waste is not permitted on the weekends or after hours.
