Important Update from the Water and Sewer Division - Flushing is Complete for the Spring of 2022

May 11th 6:30 AM Update: Contractor, Hydra Tech, has finished overnight unidirectional flushing and was able to complete Zone 2. This will conclude our unidirectional flushing program for the spring of 2022.  We would like to thank the Hydra Tech Team for all of their hard work and dedication to this project and all of our businesses and residents for their patience as this work has taken place.  For more information about Shrewsbury's unidirectional flushing program please read the feature article in May's edition of Municipal Sewer and Water Magazine which can be found here.

Overnight on Tuesday, May 11, 2022 they completed unidirectional flushing on: 

  1. Concord Road
  2.  Lexington Road
  3. Minuteman Way
  4. Bunker Hill Road
  5. Maple Avenue from Oak Street to Route 9 and adjoining side streets along Route 9 

Overnight on Monday, May 10, 2022 they completed unidirectional flushing on: 

  1. Route 9 from the Worcester city line to Oak Street, 
  2. Oak Street from Maple Avenue to Route 9, 

On Friday, May 6, 2022 they completed unidirectional flushing on: 

  1. Old Mill Road from Elm Street to Maple Avenue
  2. Van Ness Avenue

On Thursday, April 21, 2022 they completed unidirectional flushing on:

  6. Stone Meadow Farm Drive
  7. Gulf Street from Wheelock Street to Boylston Circle

On Wednesday, April 20, 2022 they completed unidirectional flushing on:

  1. Route 140 from Loring Street to Hill Street
  2. Grist Mill Circle
  3. Wachusett Circle from Grist Mill Circle to Browning Road
  4. Browning Road

Due to the flushing, residents in the identified area as well as those in the vicinity of the project may experience brief periods of reduced pressure or discolored water. If you experience discolored water once the flushing is complete, please run the cold water in downstairs bathtub until it clears. 

Weather permitting, the Town is planning on completing flushing in Zones 5, 2, and 6 this spring.
