[ARCHIVED] Water Main Break White City West

_82829460_71430268

This is an important message from the Shrewsbury Water Department:

Earlier this morning at approximately 6:55am, a water main break occurred in the area of White CIty West.  We are aware of the issue and crews are on scene to effect repairs.

Businesses and homes in the immediate area may experience extremely low pressure or temporary loss of service.  As work continues, adjacent neighborhoods may also experience discolored water due to the impact of repairs on the system.  Repairs should be completed by this afternoon.

If you experience discolored water, please run the water in your home until the condition clears.  Time will vary to restore water clarity.  Please note, it is highly recommended to do this from an outside faucet closest to your service entrance or a cold-water tap such as a first-floor bathtub.  This should help keep sediment out of your hot water system, appliances, or other plumbing fixtures.

Please monitor our website for more detailed information as the situation unfolds.  If your water does not clear, or if you have any other questions or concerns, please call the Water Department at 508-841-8506 between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm.

For water issues after normal business hours, please call the Fire Department information line at (508) 841-8522.
