The Board of Selectmen is seeking an individual interested in serving as the Town Historian for a three year term volunteer position for the Town of Shrewsbury. The Town Historian would act as the Point of Contact for historical inquiries and referrals from Town Departments, residents, researchers, and state/government agencies.
Interested parties must be a registered voter in the Town of Shrewsbury, and submit a letter of interest addressed to the Board of Selectmen with an explanation of how he or she has provided to date the following responsibilities in an unofficial matter:
1. Respond to historical inquiries by and referrals from Town Departments on historical matters.
2. Point of Contact for inquiries on the history of Shrewsbury and Lake Quinsigamond from residents, researchers, state/government agencies.
3. Provide research services regarding historical subjects.
4. Provide guidance regarding repositories of historical information/photographs (American Antiquarian Society, Worcester Historical Museum, Historic New England, Worcester Public Library, Shrewsbury Public Library, Artemas Ward House)
