[ARCHIVED] Shrewsbury Veterans Day Ceremony

Shrewsbury Veterans Council along with State and Local Officials will present at the Annual Veterans Day Ceremony. The day's program includes a wreath laying, Massachusetts Medal of Liberty presentations, patriotic songs by Paton School third grade students and more. Please bring your own lawn chair if you can as a limited amount of folding chairs will be available.

World War One Memorial, 1 Maple Ave (former Beal School)

Shrewsbury, Massachusetts

10:45 am Formation

  • Veterans meet in front of (Former) Beal School and march to front of monument together.
  • Boy Scout Troop 4 will carry the US, American Legion and VFW flags.
  • Veterans and Local & State Officials will form directly in front of the Monument.

11:00 am Veterans Day Ceremony

  • Master of Ceremonies- John Travers, Adjunct Ray Stone Post and Scout
  • Leader of BSA Troop 4
  • Welcome by Fred Russell, Chairman of the Shrewsbury Veterans Council
  • Welcome by Board of Selectman, John Samia, Chairman
  • Pledge of Allegiance by Shrewsbury Girl Scouts
  • Musical selections by Paton School, Grade 3 Chorus
  • Massachusetts Medals of Liberty Presentation by a Representative from the Office of The Adjutant General, Massachusetts National Guard
  • Wreath laying at the monument by Charles Murphy Post
  • Prayer by the Post Chaplain
  • Ringing the bell and reading of Names of recently deceased veterans by Fred Russell and William Rand.
