[ARCHIVED] Important Update from the Water & Sewer Division - Unidirectional Flushing to Continue on 12/1

Contractor, Hydra Tech, will continue unidirectional flushing on Wednesday, December 1st. They will complete Zone 11 and then move into Zone 12. Please follow the link below for a map of the flushing areas. Since the fall of 2019, unidirectional flushing has been completed in Zones 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 with only Zones 11 and 12 remaining to complete the entire town. Some flushing took place today, November 30th, in Zone 11.

Flushing will begin around 8:00AM on Wednesday, December 1st and be finished around 4:00PM. It is difficult to estimate how the work will progress each day so the list below may be optimistic but is provided to better inform everyone in the area that may be flushed. Daily updates will be provided.

Tentative flushing schedule for Wednesday, December 1st from 8:00AM to 4:00PM:

Finish Zone 11: Green Street

Begin Zone 12:

  1. Hartford Turnpike (Route 20) from Green Street to Stoney Hill Drive
  2. Centech Boulevard
  3. Cherry Street (south of Hartford Turnpike)
  4. Cherry Hill Drive
  5. Nightingale Drive
  6. Pheasant Hill Drive
  7. Stoney Hill Drive from Hartford Turnpike to past Nightingale Drive
  8. Cherry Street between Boston Turnpike (Route 9) and Hartford Turnpike
  9. Joyce Circle
  10. Thomas Farm Circle
  11. Shearson Drive
  12. Harvest Road
  13. Cooper Drive
  14. Rockwell Drive
  15. Mangs Drive
  16. Heywood Street

Due to the flushing, residents in the identified area as well as those in the vicinity of the project may experience brief periods of reduced pressure or discolored water. If you experience discolored water once the flushing is complete, please run the cold water in downstairs bathtub until it clears.
