Overnight Paving Operations on Route 140 Bridge over I-290


Work will take place from 8 p.m. tonight, Friday, October 1, through 5 a.m. on SaturdayOctober 2 


SHREWSBURY – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing it will be continuing overnight paving operations on Route 140 northbound and southbound over I-290 in Shrewsbury. The work is scheduled to take place from 8:00 p.m. tonight, Friday, October 1, through 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 2. 


During the work, traffic on Route 140 will be reduced to one alternating travel lane. Additionally, the I-290 exit 26 A/B (Route 140) eastbound and westbound off-ramps will be closed, and traffic will be directed to follow the detour signage in place and use exit 27 (Church Street) or exit 25 (Main Street).


Appropriate signage, law enforcement details, and messaging will be in place to guide drivers through the work area.


Drivers who are traveling through the affected areas should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution. 


All scheduled work is weather dependent and subject to change without notice.
