[ARCHIVED] Important Message from the Department of Public Works_Sewer Rates

This is an important message from Water & Sewer a division within the Shrewsbury Department of Public Works. Earlier this year the Sewer Commissioners held two (2) public hearings to discuss the Sewer Rate Study.  The hearings were conducted on March 8, 2021, and March 15, 2021.  Recordings of these meetings, thanks to Shrewsbury Media Connection, can be watched with the provided hyperlinks.  Following the second public hearing on March 15, 2021, the Sewer Commission voted in favor of the financial plan presented in the Sewer Rate Study.  The Sewer Commissioners once again reviewed the rate structure proposed for Fiscal Year 2022 at their June 10, 2021 meeting.  With the anticipation of the American Rescue Plan Act funding, the rates proposed effective July 1, 2022, were able to be reduced by 3.63% in aggregate.  The current Water and Sewer Rates may be viewed at shrewsburyma.gov/water..  Please do not hesitate to reach out to the Department of Public Works with any questions or concerns regarding the changes in the Sewer Rate Structure.
