[ARCHIVED] Important Update from the Water and Sewer Division - Unidirectional Flushing to Continue on 5/10

Sunday, May 9, 2021 11:00 a.m. update: Hydra Tech will be continuing the unidirectional flushing program on Monday, May 10, 2021. They will be working in Zone 3 during the next three weeks, weather permitting.

Hydra Tech is scheduled to work Monday through Friday, weather permitting. They will resume unidirectional flushing around 8:00 a.m. on Monday, May 10, 2021. They will start on the first sequence in the list below and will progress in order as much as possible. It is difficult to estimate how the work will progress each day so this may be optimistic but is provided to better inform everyone in the area that may be flushed. Flushing is expected to be finished around 5:00 p.m.

  1. South Quinsigamond Avenue from Route 9 to Pineland Road
  2. South Quinsigamond Avenue from Pineland Road to Roberts Street
  3. South Quinsigamond Avenue from Roberts Street to Jordan Road
  4. Roberts Street
  5. Jordan Road
  6. South Quinsigamond Avenue from Jordan Road to Florence Street
  7. South Quinsigamond Avenue from Florence Street to Oak Street
  8. Elizabeth Street
  9. May Street
  10. Florence Street
  11. Water Street
  12. John Street
  13. Vinnie Way
  14. South Quinsigamond Avenue from Oak Street to Fairfax Street
  15. Stoneland Road
  16. South Quinsigamond Avenue From Fairfax Street to Grace Avenue
  17. Fairfax Street
  18. Cedar Road
  19. South Quinsigamond Avenue from Fairfax Street to Old Faith Road

Due to the flushing, residents in the identified area as well as those in the vicinity of the project may experience brief periods of reduced pressure or discolored water. If you experience discolored water once the flushing is complete, please run the cold water in a downstairs bathtub until it clears.
