Hydrant Flushing Photo

Wednesday, April 21, 2021 5:30 p.m update: Hydra Tech will continue unidirectional flushing tomorrow, April 22nd at 8:00 a.m. Today they were able to finish unidirectional flushing on Paton Road, Hillcrest Avenue, Summer Street, and Raymond Avenue.

When the unidirectional flushing program was developed, the Town was divided into 12 zones to make managing the program easier. Hydra Tech is scheduled to begin in Zone 8 and will schedule necessary water valve replacements in Zone 7 over the next few weeks. Please see the attached map for more information about the location of the Zones. Additional updates will be provided at the end of each day as the flushing progresses.

Hydra Tech is scheduled to work Monday through Friday, weather permitting. They will resume unidirectional flushing around 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 22, 2021. They will start on the first sequence in the list below and will progress in order as much as possible. It is difficult to estimate how the work will progress each day so this may be optimistic but is provided to better inform everyone in the area that may be flushed. Flushing is expected to be finished around 4:00 p.m.

  1. Flanagan Drive
  2. Eastwood Road
  3. Timari Drive
  4. Holly Lane
  5. Route 140 from Maplewood Road to Main Street
  6. Finish Zone 7

For additional information about this program and other DPW projects please visit

Due to the flushing, residents in the identified area as well as those in the vicinity of the project may experience brief periods of reduced pressure or discolored water. If you experience discolored water once the flushing is complete, please run the cold water in a downstairs bathtub until it clears.

We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.  If you have any questions please contact the Water and Sewer Division at 508-841-8502 or
