The Town of Shrewsbury is pleased to announce the receipt of $60,000 from The Local Rapid Recovery Planning (LRRP) grant program!
Summary of Shrewsbury's award:
The Focus of Local Rapid Recovery Plan is on understanding and diagnosing the challenges to a municipality's chosen Study Area that have emerged as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic. The goal of LRRPs is to identify concrete policies and investments in the form of fully formed “projects” that will position participating communities for successful funding applications and leverage additional dollars from public, private, and philanthropic sources towards projects identified in the Local Rapid Recovery Plan. The goal will be to align projects with existing and available public resources to the extent possible.
Town of Shrewsbury LRRP application was approved for the following short, medium and long-term projects:
- Targeted placemaking investments to streets, sidewalks and public spaces in the Town Center District
- Creating a plan for an online marketplace for study area merchants in the Town Center District
- Window clean up or vacancy camouflage strategies OR Facade and/or storefront signage improvements in the Town Center District
- GOMAN+YORK Property Advisors, LLC is the consultant that has been matched with Shrewsbury for Plan Facilitation technical assistance in the amount of $60,000. Discussions regarding a timeline and scope of work with the LRRP facilitator consultant will begin the week of March 8th.
