[ARCHIVED] Vacancy Notice - Planning Board Associate Member

The Town Manager is seeking a qualified individual interested in serving on the Planning Board as an Associate Member to fill a vacant term set to expire on June 30, 2021. The Associate Member is not required to attend every meeting, but is called upon as-needed by the Chair to act upon Special Permit applications in the case of absence, an inability to act, or conflict of interest on the part of any member of the Planning Board or in the event of a vacancy on the Board.

 

The Planning Board consists of five (5) regular members appointed by the Town Manager for staggered terms and is responsible for overseeing the administration of the Town’s Zoning Bylaw and Rules and Regulations Governing the Subdivision of Land, in addition to other duties as set forth in Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 41, Section 81. The Board meets the first Thursday of the month throughout the year in addition to special meetings depending on the workload of the Planning Board.

 

The Planning Board is fully supported by the professional staff of the Planning and Economic Development Department.

 

Interested persons must be registered voters of the Town and are asked a submit a letter of interest and qualifications to Kevin J. Mizikar, Town Manager, 100 Maple Avenue by mail, or email to amartinez@shrewsburyma.gov no later than 4:30 pm on Monday, February 15, 2021.
