Words from the Friends
By Gerry Tongel, Vice-president
Happy New Year, Everyone. I hope and pray that this new year brings relief in the form of the long-awaited vaccine for the Corona virus that plagued so for so much of 2020. And that it brings some measure of happiness and stability to all of us. At this writing, I am still remanded to quarantine because of the huge surge in the cases of the virus. But a solitary holiday is a small price to pay to keep me and my loved ones safe and healthy
Postponed because of Covid-19, the Friends are initiating a new program for Shrewsbury residents who have achieved 100 years on this planet. We have many vibrant seniors in our community and would love to celebrate their 100th birthday. Please contact Maria Smith to arrange a celebration on their behalf. You will find her contact information in this senior edition, as well as more information on this celebration.
I wish everyone a happy and healthy new year and hope to see you all in a few months. In the meantime, stay safe, wear your masks and wash your hands frequently. Stay home as much as possible. There is finally a light at the end of this long dark tunnel.
