Thanks to the generosity of the New England Police Benevolent Association (NEPBA Local #191), Shrewsbury Firefighters Association, and Council on Aging we are pleased to announce we are were able to donate Thanksgiving meals to many of our local seniors.

Heart to Home Meals in Marlboro prepared and delivered Thanksgiving meals including turkey, cranberry orange sauce, side of stuffing, potatoes, turnip and butternut squash soup. Last but certainly not least, Thanksgiving is not complete without a piece of apple pie! We cannot thank NEPBA Local #191, the Shrewsbury Firefighters Association, and Heart to Home Meals enough and we hope everyone has a happy and safe Thanksgiving!

*Reminder* the Senior Center and Town Hall will be closed on Friday, November 27th.
Other Updates from the COA
The Council on Aging is still accepting donations to the Gifts for Seniors programs until December 15th. Items can be dropped off at the Senior Center in the bin outside the front door. Staff check the bin every week day.
Sign up for our intergenerational pen pal program! The COA is working with Sherwood Middle School to match up local seniors with 6th graders. Call 508-841-8640 to sign up today! Materials including paper, envelopes and stamps can be provided.
The COA is seeking volunteers to form a non-profit, 501(c)3 Friends of Outreach organization that will help support the Shrewsbury Council on Aging Outreach initiatives. The organization would conduct service projects and fundraising programs. You do not have to be a senior to volunteer, in fact we would love it to be a multigenerational organization. Friends of Outreach would work to promote social, emotional, and physical support to the Shrewsbury Seniors. If you are interested, please contact our Outreach Coordinator, Elisabeth, at 508-842-8647.
2021 is the year to Commit to Be Fit! Call the Senior Center to get your water bottle, pedometer and calendar to get out and record your steps. Random monthly drawings for all participants who track their progress.
