[ARCHIVED] Resolution Extension of Water Use Restrictions

Due to the continuation of severe to extreme drought conditions in our region, the present Water Restrictions have been extended.
The Board of Selectmen declares that a shortage of water continues and conservation measures are necessary to ensure an adequate supply of water to all water consumers.
The initial water use restrictions adopted on April 12, 2016 and the additional water use restrictions adopted on July 12, 2016 are Extended to October 31, 2016.
These Additional restrictions are effective October 1, 2016 and will end on October 31, 2016.
These conservation measures must be implemented to protect our drinking water. The Board of Selectmen call upon all residents to conserve water whenever possible, and to observe all water restrictions.
The ban on all lawn watering is still in effect. This includes use of automatic or manual lawn sprinklers or sprinkler systems and all hand-held watering. The use of hand-held devices is allowed for watering vegetable or flower gardens, shrubbery and trees. However, this watering must follow the existing daily/weekly schedule as outlined in the restrictions implemented on April 16, 2016.
Also in effect, all filling and topping off of swimming pools is banned. This includes the filling of new pools and the adding of more than two inches of water to existing filled pools. The usage of children’s wading pools will be allowed.

Outdoor Watering Hours;
Nonessential outdoors watering hours are restricted to before 9:00 AM and after 5:00 PM.
Even numbered addresses may engage in nonessential outdoor water use on Wednesdays and Saturdays, only.
Odd numbered addresses may engage in nonessential outdoor water use on Thursdays and Sundays, only.
