[ARCHIVED] Important Notice from the Water and Sewer Division - Unidirectional Flushing to Resume on 9/28/2020

Contractor Hydra Tech is scheduled to continue the unidirectional flushing program on Monday September 28, 2020.  When the unidirectional flushing program was developed, the Town was divided into 12 zones to make managing the program easier.  Hydra Tech is scheduled to begin in Zone 6 and will schedule necessary water valve replacements in Zone 5 over the next few weeks.  Please see the attached map for more information about the location of the Zones.  

Hydra Tech is schedule to work Monday through Friday and will begin unidirectional flushing around 8:00 a.m. and will start on the first sequence in in the list below and will progress in order.  It is difficult to estimate how the work will progress each day so this may be optimistic but is provided to better inform everyone in the area that may be flushed.  Flushing is expected to be finished around 4:00 p.m. 

1. Boylston Street from Route 290 to Colonial Drive

2. Colonial Drive from Boylston Street to Notch Brook Road and including the dead-end section of Boylston Street

3. Notch Brook Road

4. Colonial Drive from Notch Brook Road to Colonial Way

5. Barnard Street

6. Rawson Hill Drive

7. The end of Prospect Street to Reservoir Street

8. Lupine Circle 

9. Prospect Street from Reservoir Street to Sam Allen Circle

10. Reservoir Street from Prospect Street to Keyes House Road

11. Kemble Drive

12. Keyes House Road from Prospect Street Carter Road and a small section of Carter Road

13. Dartmoore Drive from Cross Street to Hunter Circle

14. Dartmoore Drive from Hunter Circle to Olde Colony Drive

15. Olde Colony Drive from Saxon Lane to Keyes House Road

16. Keyes House Road from Olde Colony Drive to Carter Road

17.  Carter Road

18. Saxon Lane from Olde Colony Drive to Bracken Road and Bracken Road

19. Travis Road

20.  Keyes House Road from Saxon Lane to Olde Colony Drive

Due to the flushing, residents in the identified area as well as those in the vicinity of the project may experience brief periods of reduced pressure or discolored water.  

If you experience discolored water once the flushing is complete, please run the cold water in downstairs bathtub until it clears.
