Parks & Recreation Summer Programs & Events Cancelled

Due to the uncertainty and concerns for COVID-19 we have made the difficult decision to cancel our summer recreation programs including the summer playground program.

Keeping the children and staff safe is our first concern for us during this difficult time. We had waited as long as possible to make this decision but feel we must give families the opportunity to make alternative plans now.

The prep work, hiring and training that goes into running these programs is challenging during normal times but planning for ways to operate during the pandemic is even more demanding.

At this time we have also made the decision to cancel special events such as the Annual 4th of July program and summer concerts thru Labor day due to financial concerns and gathering size limitations.

Our parks division is working hard to keep maintaining our outdoor spaces so residents have a place to get outside and walk and enjoy nature.  We will be working with existing local sports organizations to schedule fields for Phase II to open up for small group sports team practices. We will not be issuing any other special event permits or picnic permits at this time.
