J.L Raymaakers began construction on Route 20 (Hartford Turnpike) on May 18, 2020, and has installed approximately 8,300 linear feet of new 6-inch and 8-inch sewer force main from Lake Street to the Worcester city line and on Arrowwood Drive. Installation of 280 linear feet of new 15-inch gravity sewer has been installed on Lake Street that will feed into the new sewer pump station in front of Aggregate Industries.
Testing of the new force main piping will be performed through the end of September.
Construction is now focused at the sewer pump station on Arrowwood Drive and the sewer pump station at the corner of Route 20 and Lakeside Drive.
This project includes the installation of new sewer mains on Arrowwood Drive, Lake Street (from Arrowwood Drive to Route 20), and along Route 20 (from Lake Street to the Worcester city line). Upgrades to sewer pump stations located on Arrowwood Drive and Route 20 at Lakeside Drive are also be a part of this project.
Construction will will be ongoing, weather permitting, and we are not anticipating any disruptions to sewer service at this time. Work will take place during daytime hours with one lane of traffic planned to be open in each direction. However, delays can be expected so motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists are encouraged to seek alternate routes. Please see the attached map for more information about the project.
