J.L Raymaakers began construction on Route 20 (Hartford Turnpike) on May 18, 2020 and has installed approximately 2,800 linear feet of new 8-inch sewer force main from Lakeside Drive to Lake Street. Installation of 280 linear feet of new 15-inch gravity sewer has been installed on Lake Street that will feed into the new sewer pump station in front of Aggregate Industries. Additionally, 820 linear feet of dual 6-inch and 8-inch sewer force mains have been installed from Lakeside Drive towards Worcester.
Construction continues on Route 20 near Pineland Avenue towards the Shrewsbury/Worcester town line and on Lake Street near Route 20. Traffic remains open in both directions at these locations.
Work will continue daily Monday-Friday, weather permitting, and will include Arrowwood Drive as the project progresses and crews are available.
This project includes the installation of new sewer mains on Arrowwood Drive, Lake Street (from Arrowwood Drive to Route 20), and along Route 20 (from Lake Street to the Worcester City line). Upgrades to sewer pump stations located on Arrowwood Drive and Route 20 at Lakeside Drive will also be a part of this project.
Construction will will be ongoing, weather permitting, and we are not anticipating any disruptions to sewer service at this time. Work will take place during daytime hours with one lane of traffic planned to be open in each direction. However, delays can be expected so motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists are encouraged to seek alternate routes. Please see the attached map for more information about the project.
