Update on the Route 20 sewer upgrade project - work is expected to begin on Arrowwood Drive on July 9th:
J.L Raymaakers began construction on Route 20 (Hartford Turnpike) on May 18, 2020 and has progressed from Lakeside Drive to Lake Street with installation of 2,600 linear feet of new sewer force main as of June 19, 2020. Construction activity of new sewer installation for the Route 20 Corridor Sewer Upgrades will begin on Arrowwood Drive starting July 9, 2020.
Construction of new sewer will continue from Lakeside Drive towards the Worcester town line and also on the Lake Street near the intersection at Route 20 in the upcoming weeks. Single lane traffic remains open in both directions at these locations.
Work will continue daily Monday-Friday, weather permitting.
This project includes the installation of new sewer mains on Arrowwood Drive, Lake Street (from Arrowwood Drive to Route 20), and along Route 20 (from Lake Street to the Worcester City line). Upgrades to sewer pump stations located on Arrowwood Drive and Route 20 at Lakeside Drive will also be a part of this project.
Construction will will be ongoing, weather permitting, and we are not anticipating any disruptions to sewer service at this time. Work will take place during daytime hours with one lane of traffic planned to be open in each direction. However, delays can be expected so motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists are encouraged to seek alternate routes. Please see the attached map for more information about the project.
