June 8, 2020 update:
J.L Raymaakers began construction on Route 20 (Hartford Turnpike) on May 18, 2020, at Lakeside Drive and has progressed to Olive Avenue as of June 5, 2020. A second J.L. Raymaakers construction crew began work in front of 151 Hartford Turnpike on June 2, 2020, and is working towards Lake Street. Current work consists of installation of new sewer force main and manhole structures. Single lane traffic remains open in both directions at these locations.
This project includes the installation of new sewer mains on Arrowwood Drive, Lake Street (from Arrowwood Drive to Route 20), and along Route 20 (from Lake Street to the Worcester City line). Upgrades to sewer pump stations located on Arrowwood Drive and Route 20 at Lakeside Drive will also be a part of this project.
Construction will will be ongoing, weather permitting, and we are not anticipating any disruptions to sewer service at this time. Work will take place during daytime hours with one lane of traffic planned to be open in each direction. However, delays can be expected so motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists are encouraged to seek alternate routes. Please see the attached map for more information about the project.
