May 11, 2020 update:

Contractor, J.L. Raymaakers & Sons, Inc., will begin construction on sanitary sewer system upgrades as part of the Phase 1 – Route 20 Corridor Sewer Upgrades. Work is scheduled to begin on May 18, 2020 and will continue through May 2021.

This project includes the installation of new sewer mains on Arrowwood Drive, Lake Street (from Arrowwood Drive to Route 20), and along Route 20 (from Lake Street to the Worcester City line). Upgrades to sewer pump stations located on Arrowwood Drive and Route 20 at Lakeside Drive will also be a part of this project.

Construction will begin on Route 20 and we are not anticipating any disruptions to sewer service at this time.  Work will take place during daytime hours with one lane of traffic planned to be open in each direction. However, delays can be expected so motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists are encourage to seek alternate routes. Please see the attached map for more information about the project.

If you have any questions or experience any inconvenience related to the work described above, please contact the Town of Shrewsbury’s Department of Public Works Water and Sewer Division at (508) 841-8506.

We apologize for any inconvenience you may experience during this work and appreciate your continued cooperation while we strive to improve our sanitary sewer system.
