[ARCHIVED] Update the Water and Sewer Division - Unidirectional Flushing will Continue Tomorrow 3/10

March 9, 2020, 4:30 p.m. update: unidirectional flushing has concluded for the day and will continue tomorrow, March 10, 2020. We have also tentatively scheduled flushing for Wednesday and Thursday nights due to the busy location in town of the next areas to flush.  More information will be sent out tomorrow.

Hydra Tech will begin unidirectional flushing around 8:00 a.m. and will start on the first sequence in the list below and will progress in order.  It is difficult to estimate how the work will progress each day so this may be optimistic but is provided to better inform everyone in the area that may be flushed.  Flushing is expected to be finished around 4:00 p.m. 

1. Spring Street from Spring Terrace to Fieldstone Drive

2. Park Grove Lane

3. Lantern Lane

4. North Street from Cross Street to Lantern Lane 

5. High Street from North Street to Meadow Hill Road

6. Meadow Hill Road

7. Highland Hill Drive

8. Laurel Ridge Lane

9. Prospect Street from Loring Street to Boylston Street

10. Boylston Street from Loring Street to Church Road

11. Church Road

12 Boylston Street from Church Road to Main Street 

13. Main Street from Church Road to Westwood Road


Today, Hydra Tech was able to complete unidirectional flushing on these streets:

Loring Street, Boylston Street between Loring Street and Merriam Avenue, and a section of Prospect Street between Loring Street and Boyston Street

Spring Street from Prospect Street to Holman Street and Holman Street between Spring Street and Prospect Street

Tip Pond Road

Gifford Drive

Barrows Road

Spring Street from Holman Street to Spring Terrace

North Street from Prospect Street to Wilder Road 

Wilder Road from North Street to Spring Circle

Spring Circle

Spring Terrace from Spring Circle to Spring Street

Willow Woods Drive

Spring Meadow Drive

Vista Drive

Due to the flushing, residents in the identified area as well as those in the vicinity of the project may experience brief periods of reduced pressure or discolored water.  

If you experience discolored water once the flushing is complete, please run the cold water in downstairs bathtub until it clears.
