The Shrewsbury Department of Public Works has been notified that the Rte 140 Bridge over Interstate 290 will be shut down starting at Monday night, March 9, 2020 for bridge work.
These shut downs will occur nightly for a minimum of 2 weeks, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM.
During the work, all traffic on Route 140 in the vicinity of the bridge will be detoured.
- Traffic traveling on Rte 140 NB will be detoured onto I-290 EB to Exit 24 (Church Street) in order to reverse direction.
- Traffic traveling on Rte 140 SB will be directed onto I-290 WB to Exit 22 (Main Street) in order to reverse direction.
- All thru traffic on I-290 EB/WB will be directed to utilize the ramp bypass system at Exit 23 in order to avoid the bridge work zone.
