[ARCHIVED] Message from the Shrewsbury D.P.W. Water & Sewer Division

Water pump with text Shrewsbury Water Department and Established 1905 around pump

Water main cleaning work by method "ice pigging" will continue on Monday, June 3rd, 2019 on Gulf St. from the intersection of Sewall St. to the I-290 Overpass. On Tuesday, June 4th, the cleaning process will be conducted on Cypress Ave. from the intersection of Gulf St. to approximately half way up the hill and Greenbriar Drive. The work will be conducted from 9 A.M. - 2 P.M. daily, barring unforeseen circumstances. The reason for the extended time period to complete the work is due to the excessive build-up of manganese in the main lines, which is requiring each section of piping to be cleaned twice, in order to get a more complete cleaning.

Please refrain from water use activities during the work time period, so as not to introduce discolored water into your residence. For any questions, please contact the Water & Sewer D.P.W. Division at 508-841-8506.Thank you for your patience and understanding.
