[ARCHIVED] Message from the Shrewsbury D.P.W. Water & Sewer Division

Hydrant flushing is progressing ahead of schedule. On Wednesday, April 17th from 8 AM - 3 PM, hydrant flushing will be conducted on Lake St. from Grafton St. to Edgewood Rd. and then the entire Edgewood Rd. neighborhood. Work will next progress back to Gulf St. for the high service line servicing Shrewsbury High School and the upper parts of Ridge Rd. to Ivy Path and Cypress Avenue. If conditions allow, work will then begin on Gulf St. at Browning Rd. working toward Boylston Circle.

On Thursday, April 18th from 8 AM - 3 PM, work will continue in upper Gulf St. to Boylston Circle and Wheelock St. areas, as well as adjacent streets. Boylston St. will next be flushed from the center of Town to Rt. 290. At this time, no flushing will be done on Friday in preparation for the Easter holiday on Sunday, April 21st.

Hydrant flushing may temporarily introduce discolored water into your residence during the work period. Please refrain from water related activities such as laundry and food preparation during this period of time. If you are experiencing discolored water, please run the Cold water only in a downstairs bathtub or outside faucet until clear, after the daily flushing is complete for the day. For any questions regarding this, please refer to the Town website www.shrewsburyma.gov/watersewer, https://shrewsburyma.gov/DocumentCenter/View/5043/Water-Improvement-Project---Main-Flushing-Spring-2019 or contact the Water & Sewer D.P.W. Division office at 508-841-8506. Thank you in advance for you patience and understanding.
