Water pump with text Shrewsbury Water Department and Established 1905 around pump

On Thursday, August 23rd, water main replacement work will begin on Edgemere Boulevard. The contractor’s schedule has changed and now they are able to begin earlier than the original start date of August 27th. The project will start with a connection into the newer section of water main on the lower section of Edgemere Blvd. near Rt. 20. To complete this initial phase, water will need to be turned off between the lower or southern end of Bay View Dr. and Rt. 20, along Edgemere Boulevard. Customers in this section of roadway will have no water from approximately 8 AM to 1 PM. The lower section of Edgemere Blvd. from the southern end of Bay View Dr. to Rt. 20 will be blocked off to through traffic entering or existing onto Rt. 20. Please adjust your daily activities and travel plans accordingly if you live in the immediate or adjacent areas effected.

Discolored water may temporarily be encountered in the immediate or adjacent areas due to the nature of the work. If this situation does occur, please run water from an outside faucet closest to where the service line enters the residence to prevent sediment from getting into the plumbing fixtures in the household. If you have any questions, please contact the Water Department at 508-841-8506.
