Work is scheduled to start on Monday August 27, for water main and service replacement in the Edgemere Blvd. - Lakeside Drive area. Delivery of construction materials will begin the week of August 6th in anticipation of the August 27th start date. This work is part of our annual Town wide water system improvement plan. The water main being replaced in the area was originally installed in the 1920’s - 1930’s and has become restricted in size, unable to deliver the necessary flow to the area.
The present schedule is to start on Edgemere Blvd. just north of Route 20, followed by Lakeside Drive and then the entire length of Bay View Drive. Our plan is to keep the present water main in service while the new main is installed on the opposite side of the road. There will be times sections of main will need to be turned off for connections or if there are utility conflicts. This should be somewhat infrequent. We will try to keep open a lane on the roads, but at times due to the narrowness of road sections and the type of connections, roadway areas will be closed.
