The contest closes at 3:00 p.m. EST on Friday, October 20, 2023. Late submissions will not be considered.
Judging will be done by the DEIB committee for the top three choices. These will then be displayed at the Multicultural Festival on November 4, 2023, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., at Oak Middle School for the town residents to vote. The design with the most votes would be the DEIB Logo.
About the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Committee
The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Committee was established by the Board of Selectmen August 23, 2022 following the work of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force.
This committee is comprised of an intentionally diverse group of seven members appointed by the Board, serving staggered three year terms. One member of the committee is a high school-aged Shrewsbury resident junior or senior student serving a one year term.
The DEIB Committee will organize and facilitate a variety of community events, recommend strategies to improve access to local resources, programs, and opportunities, and foster civic engagement with the goal of increasing diverse participation in Town Boards, Committees, and Town Meeting.
