  2. Button Cell Batteries: The Collection Program Ended 12-31-20

    The program for the collection of button cell batteries (found in watches, hearing aids, etc.) ended on 12-31-20. They are no longer manufactured with mercury and may be disposed of in the trash. We thank everyone who participated over the years.

Effective July 1, 2019, the Town of Shrewsbury and Waste Management introduced a new Solid Waste & Recycling Program. A number of information sessions were held for this roll-out which can be viewed at the links below.

Residents should ensure that rubbish barrels, recycle bins, and Pay As You Throw (PAYT) bags are:

  • Free from ice and snow and clearly visible to the collection crew.
  • Not in the way of the snow removal equipment.
  • For storm updates, please check the Town’s website and social media such as Twitter and Facebook.
