Elder in Need of Care

Council on Aging Outreach Services

If you suspect that a senior citizen is without a caregiver and needs one, even if you don't know the senior well (a neighbor or someone you've seen in town), Council on Aging Outreach Services can help.

Our Outreach Services exist to help seniors in town who may be "falling between the cracks."

Information to Provide

To best serve you, when you call the Council on Aging to report a concern, please give us as much information on the senior as you can, including:

  • Senior's address, if known
  • Senior's name, if known
  • What behavior was witnessed that has you concerned, such as:
    • Confusion
    • Inappropriate actions or speech
    • Unkempt appearance
  • Where you have seen the senior, particularly most recently, such as:
    • Driving a car
    • In the post office or other public place
    • Walking on a street
  • Any other information you have heard or know about the individual

Confidentiality

Your call can always be confidential and you may leave information on our voice mail 24 hours a day or fill out our Request Help for a Senior form.
