Pedestrian
Targeting Grades K-5, this program includes instruction on:
- Crossing with the lights and crossing guards
- Safe routes to school
- Traffic hazards for pedestrians
Babysitting
Through
this program, 6th-graders are taught:
- Dangers of riding home with people you don't know well
- Dealing with harassing calls
- General safety
- Household
- Playground hazard awareness
- Risks associated with people who may be under the influence of drugs or alcohol
- Stranger danger
- When to call the police and what information to give them
The program is offered 2-3 times per year, depending upon demand.
Bike Safety
This program is for grades K-5th. Participants learn about:
- Bike helmets
- Bike owner identification
- Bike security
- How to choose a bike
- Safe riding techniques
Halloween Safety
This program is for grades K-5. Participants learn about:
- Group participation
- How to choose a safe costume and mask
- Safe trick or treating
- The importance of parents inspecting candy
Stranger Danger
This program is for grades K-1st. "No, Go, and Tell!" teaches kids to say "no" to strangers and to "go" and "tell" an adult that they trust. They also learn about inappropriate versus appropriate touching and who are the right people to go to.
