Below are several virtual volunteer opportunities for teens entering grade 7 and higher. If you are interested in any of them, please email splteens@cwmars.org.
Zoom Card Making Party
Earn 1 hour of volunteering time

According to USA Today “US nursing home residents are trapped in isolation amid coronavirus. Cards and letters are brightening their days”. Let’s get together with friends on Zoom and make some colorful cards with whatever supply you can find at home. Then send those cards to us and we will mail them to the elderly and hopefully brighten somebody’s day.

Summer Reading Resources
Volunteer hours vary

Help the kids in grades 7-12 with their summer reading program by adding to our list of resources on our School Summer Reading Padlet. You can find details about the school's program on the Summer Theme Experiences page. This work will help your peers and will earn you volunteer hours.

The Shrewsbury Public Library wouldn't run as successfully as it does without the support of a great volunteer team. This team participates in tasks such as:
  • Folding newsletters
  • Mending broken items
  • Shelving books
  • Watering plants
  • Everything else in between
If you're interested in serving as a volunteer at the Shrewsbury Public Library, here is some information you need to know.
Recommendations on Padlet
Volunteer hours vary

If you are reading are listening to books this summer, why not make some recommendations to your peers? By submitting recommendations through our Padlet, you can earn some volunteer hours and help out friends too. Movie recommendations are also welcome. Just send us an email saying how many hours you earned in the process.
Make Instructional Videos
Volunteer hours vary

Do you have a talent you would like to share? Make an instructional or demo video and send it to us! It can be anything from dancing, drawing, arts & crafts, cooking, etc. We will then share it on our website. We just ask that you keep each video to approximately 3 minutes. Let us know how much time you spent preparing, and we will reward you with volunteer hours.

Not everyone who applies for a volunteer position will be placed in a job - we receive numerous inquiries for almost every position we post. Last year, for instance, we had 566 volunteers serve for over 3,725 hours!

We favor applicants with library work experience and schedule flexibility. If you have further questions that are not answered with this information, please email the volunteer coordinator, Annie Lee King. Check below for current openings.
