English for Non-Native Speakers

The Shrewsbury Public Library obtained a grant for English Conversation Circles from the Greater Worcester Community Foundation. We are happy to offer 5 sessions a week, for English language learners to practice speaking English in an informal environment. There are both beginner and intermediate classes available. The up-to-date schedule is posted on our online calendar. For more information, contact the Assistant Director, Priya Rathnam, at 508-841-8531.

Memory Café

A memory cafe is a forum for people with memory loss, Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia AND their caregivers to come together for an afternoon of socialization. The café meets on the first and third Friday of the month from 2-4 PM. Recreational activities such as musical performances, an art and craft activity or a visit with a therapy dog and its handler are scheduled during the café meetings. This is a drop-in program. For more information, contact the Assistant Director, Priya Rathnam, at 508-841-8531.
This is funded by a Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grant administered by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners (MBLC).
