Funeral Directors

Effective October 3, 2023, the Health Department transitioned to an electronic permitting portal called OpenGov for a Funeral Director Permit.

OpenGov is a web-based system that allows the applicant to apply, pay, and track permit requests from start to finish. 

First-time users will need to create an account, then can apply and pay for a permit or license electronically. 

Payment Methods:

  • Credit Card (customer pays processing fee)
    Pay with Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express

  • Cash

  • Check made payable to: Town of Shrewsbury

  • E-Check (customer pays processing fee)
    Pay via ACH direct-debit from most major banks, with instant verification via login to online banking.
