The Shrewsbury Development Corporation (SDC) was established in 2002 to oversee the development of the Town-owned property known as CenTech Park North (the former Allen Farm). This prime 60-acre parcel was identified as a key site for commercial development within Shrewsbury as it is located between Routes 9 and 20, with convenient access to Interstates 290, 190, 495 and the Grafton Commuter Rail Station.

Through a collaborative, business-friendly approach, the Town of Shrewsbury and the Shrewsbury Development Corporation took quick action in readying the parcel for further development, including:

  • Applying for Chapter 43D Expediting Permitting designation in 2007
  • Adopting expanded zoning uses in 2009
  • Constructing a sewer extension to the properties in 2012
  • Applying for a $302,000 MassDevelopment Site Readiness Grant in 2018 for the design and permitting of the North Roadway
  • Approving the CenTech Park North Master Plan through a vote by the Board of Selectmen in 2019

After much hard work and determination, the Shrewsbury Development Corporation successfully negotiated and closed on the sale of CenTech Park North with NorthBridge Partners, LLC. for $6.5 million on September 23, 2021.  NorthBridge Partners, LLC permitted the property under the Campus Development Master Plan use for three buildings that will be used for logistics.  The sale of CenTech Park North marks a momentous achievement in the history of the Shrewsbury Development Corporation and for the overall economic development in the Town of Shrewsbury.
