The Town of Shrewsbury Department of Public Works is working proactively to maintain and improve its infrastructure. Below is a list of some of the current projects happening across the Town. As of Wednesday, April 7, 2021, the Highway Division completed sweeping streets per the annual sweeping program. The sweepers completed the following areas:

The Town's consultants, Weston & Sampson, and contractor, National Water Main Cleaning Company, began daytime cleaning and inspection of sewer lines on Monday, March 29, 2021. They will be starting nighttime flow isolation on April 12, 2021. Below is a list of the sub-areas that they will be working on this year. Updated on 4/12/2021.
Contractor, Hydra-Tech, will be completing the unidirectional flushing in Zones 7 and 8 this spring. They completed the replacement of a water gate on Willow Street near Estabrook Road on March 31, and have been continuing the unidirectional flushing in Zone 7 on a daily basis. During the week of April 19-23, several valves will be replaced in the Wesleyan Terrace and Knowlton Avenue area. Updated on 4/11/2021.
Contractor, Riccardi Brothers Inc., began the replacement of the water main on Saybrook Road on Friday, April 2, 2021. Once that road is complete, they will be replacing the water mains on School Street and Main Circle (the order of progression after Saybrook Road is still to be determined). Updated on 4/11/2021.
