The Town of Shrewsbury Department of Public Works is working proactively to maintain and improve its infrastructure. Below is a list of some of the current projects happening across the Town. The 2022 spring street sweeping is on schedule to begin in March, weather permitting.
As of Wednesday, May 12, 2021, the Highway Division completed the street sweeping program for the spring of 2021. The spring sweeping program took approximately 9 weeks to complete. The sweepers completed the following areas:

The Town's consultants, Weston & Sampson, and contractor, National Water Main Cleaning Company, began daytime cleaning and inspection of sewer lines on Monday, March 29, 2021. They will be starting nighttime flow isolation on April 12, 2021. Below is a list of the sub-areas that they will be working on this year. Updated on 4/12/2021.
Contractor, Hydra Tech, will continue the unidirectional flushing program on October 22, 2021. Please follow the link below for more information. Updated on 11/1/2021.
Contractor, Riccardi Brothers Inc., began the replacement of the water main on Saybrook Road on Friday, April 2, 2021. They are currently connecting services to the new main and will be connecting it to the water mains on Jenney Street and Catalina Drive. They have also started installing the temporary bypass water main on Main Circe and will replace that water main next. Once that is complete they will move onto School Street. Updated on 5/19/2021.

Spring town clean-up day will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022.
